Sometimes I Learn The Wrong Thing

So I’m taking French, and Rosetta Stone is this visual learning thing.  They show you a picture and say ‘vert.’  Then they build off the words you know, giving you more and more until your brain clicks over and knows vert = green!  Yay!  This mostly works.  I certainly can understand more French now, and my vocabulary is getting bigger, but I don’t know if I’m learning to speak it.

And part of this is because I wander off to the wrong thing when I’m reading the examples.  While I take my classes, I tend to screenshot and tweet the more amusing (or cool) moments.  I happened to notice I’d saved the last few weeks worth, so I thought I’d post them for those who only read my blog!

Sometimes it’s too obvious

This is the “standard” sort of image.  I get it, I get what it means. Yay.

Again. These guys are really obvious as to what’s going on.  I have no problem with these.

Sometimes I smile

I don’t care who you are, the baby here is cute (and in this lesson I was learning the difference between large and small).

Sometimes I laugh

Really, becuase what kid doesn’t want to become a banker when he grows up?

Sometimes I totally miss the point

Now we’ve started to get into the weird.  I looked at this and thought “What a cool use for a hulahoop!”

Okay, now they’re just being weird.  Look at the wall Dalek!  Oh, but it’s nice you’re vacuuming under the rug, kid!

Somtimes you just say ‘What the …?’

This makes me wonder about the state of gay marriage in France!

And now I think I’ve wandered into sketch comedy, BBC style.
