Duck Trifecta

Sunday, Daddy duck came by and posed and quacked at me. He didn’t really want to leave that rock, though. (Yes I know the pics are upside down… I don’t know how that happened).

Of course, Sunday and Monday were in the high 90s/low 100s, so the ducks wisely stayed where it was cooler. Tuesday, as I went to water the plant, I heard the daddy again, this time on a rock even closer!

I went to get Mrs. Ipstenu, who admired him (she doesn’t normally get to see him) and I asked him where his cute babies and beautiful wife were. I’m sure my neighbors think I’m fucking crazy, always talking to the ducks or calling to them, but there you are. I went back inside to get ready to go to work when I heard a ton of quacking. I go look and there they all are!

Those pictures are not zoomed in. The ducks were so close, I could have touched them if I’d held my hand out. I didn’t. They’re wild and I don’t want them to trust humans too much. We’re assholes.
