So I left MSNBC on all day as I worked from home and at a certain point they got ol’ Blago out to talk about how he was being mistreated.
He pucked out this analogy, about how there was this cowboy who stole a horse, and everyone wanted to string him up, especially they guy whose horse he stole, but one guy said they should give him a fair trial. “Under these rules, I’m not getting a fair trial. They’re just hanging me,” quoth Blago.
And I thought ‘Yes, but you still stole the horse, Rod.’
Also, he claimed that it was illegal, and if they could impeach him, they could do this to anyone. Not so much, G-Rod. I’m not impeachable. That’s a political thing, not a legal one. Blago claims the Senate rules effectively don’t allow him to call witnesses. Again, wrong! He missed the deadlines to submit his witness wish-list, and now the Senators will approve ad-hoc.
I wouldn’t mind if he fought this, claiming innocence every day, but can he at least bitch about things that are legally correct to be bitched about? This is close to saying ‘My apple isn’t an orange! UNFAIR!’
And now Blago and his attorneys won’t be coming to the trial on Monday. I’m sure he’ll bitch later that decisions were made while he wasn’t there to represent his own interests.
