Planted along the remains of the Berlin Wall is a small field of rye. We can sow where there is peace, reads the sign. I stopped to look and saw flowers that remind me of my home, and I heard the sound of a bee.
It’s small and simple but reminds me that there is hope. There is a place where the evil humans have done to each other can end and we can remember and be better.
Tear down the walls, the monuments that celebrate our horrors, and turn them into reminders. That we will not do this again. That we will not divide families and harm each other.
And then, when there is peace, we will sow again and feed everyone.
