- 3 cups of bread flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp yeast
- 1 1/2 cups warm water
Mix the dry, add in the wet slowly until the flour is absorbed and the dough is shaggy. Not smooth! Let it rise for four hours. Place it on an oiled surface, mash down and fold back up into itself, making a dough ball. Get a cooking dish with a cover, oil it a little, put the dough in (ugly side up) and let it rise again for half an hour.
To make the wait less painful, put the dish on the stovetop while you pre-heat the oven to 450 degrees. Bake for twenty minutes and check on it. If it looks mostly done, take the lid off and bake for another five to get it crispy.
You can do an egg wash if you’re inclined. I’m habitually lazy.
