I saw this on Twitter, by Anna Vital, called “How to Talk to Programmers”
- get to the point fast
- show them that you really understand them
- assume they’re smarter than you (they are)
- whatever the timing is, assume it will be longer
- don’t pull the “I’m the business guy” card
- specify exactly what you want
- finding out what does not work also takes work
- only meaningful projects inspire good code
- working the brain is just as hard as weightlifting, but invisible
Change the second to last one to “only meaningful projects inspire good work” and it’s basically universal.
