Life has it’s little ups and downs. It has good and bad days. But by in large, if you surround yourself with good people, good things happen. Like new careers, like being given the chance to step up and do more, and finding you kind of like it. Like learning new things. Making new friends. And there are rewards more tangible than just the feelings. Like Cards Against Humanity or a skill saw or coffee.
The point is that the last 18 months have been pretty damn cool and make me feel incredibly lucky.
Thanks everyone who supports me, everyone who comforts me, everyone who teaches me, and even everyone who argues with me. You’ve all been beneficial in the end.
Pay it forward if you can. If someone makes things awesome for you, give to someone with less. Don’t make this a once a year thing, do it all the time, randomly. Offer to pay people who go above and beyond, but if they decline, ask them where you can donate money in their name. Make sure they know their time was worth it.
And above all, follow the epic words of Lincoln. “Be excellent to one another.”
