I hate you more

I play on a silly little site called Gaia where I run around and make ‘gold’ to buy pretty clothes and .. it’s all very twee but I like it.

Today they have an ‘event’ where you can carol and get presents (Christmas lends itself more to this than Hanukkah, so I’m very okay with that). But. Naturally it’s a wee bit broken.

There are two ways to get ‘cheer’ which one can trade for gifts:

  • Stores
Go to the eight stores and sing in each.
  • Towns
Go to 200 ‘houses’ (i.e. where a player lives) and sing.

Then you find santa and he gives you a gift for your cheer. Not your Cher. That’s another game.

One store is busted, and Town Santa won’t accept cheer.

So naturally people are pissed off. Caroling’s been up since 3am Eastern and it’s now 11 hours and no gifties.

I wanna shoot the people.

Not to be rude, but they should have made sure the event would run correctly before heading out of town or whatever. The developers get paid to make sure things like this do not happen. From the experience of past events, the Admins know this happens every single time.

Gaia has three million users. Developers made the games, they tested them, and they released them. There’s no way of knowing what the effect of 3 FUCKING million people on the game will do to it. Maybe Santa’s overwhelmed with too high a number. Maybe someone fat fingered something and no one noticed. If developers were perfect every single time, there would be no need for people like me!

So shut the fuck up, you idiot kids and pay attention: NOTHING WORKS THE FIRST TIME

Comprende? No matter how hard you try it gets fucked. So nu. Shut up and move on.
