A trip to Gay Pari in 2007 was well worth the $65 tickets. Yes, $65. It was over Christmas and we celebrated my old man turning 60.
Everyone knows what this building is. I only wish I’d remembered the camera the night before, when we walked past at midnight and ran into a man with an accordion, playing a song my partner knew, in a key she could sing in. It was so good, people stopped on the street and applauded.
We didn’t go in the Louvre because the line was so long, but we walked around and caught the free show of art in the world.
I visited here about 18 years previously with my mother. It hadn’t actually changed all that much.
On our last day in Paris, we decided to walk to that iconic landmark, and found everything beautiful in between as well by taking side streets. Remember, take the less direct route when you’re on vacation.
