I did not ask my wife if it was okay to use a little of the saffron first. This may have been a mistake. Saffron’s harder to come by than I wish it was, and it can be expensive. But use it I did. Very little. And she said “Oh hell yes!” when I texted her to let her know I was doing this.
I like cauliflower and broccoli and those things, but cauliflower is more versatile. It’s also colorful. We once did a dish with the purple stuff. This was the white stuff, a red onion, and craisins instead of raisins. Something a little brighter for the winter.
The smell was nice while it cooked. Relaxed and mellow.
